Chicago: The Lewis Publishing Company, 1890. Hardcover. This was the second county history to be published for San Joaquin County, a wonderful look back at the pioneers who settled the fertile valley region. Very descriptive for the individuals and institutions that shaped the future of the region. Citation: Rocq 12965. Full dark brown Morocco leather, blind debossed design to front and rear boards, "pen Pictures from the Garden of the World" in gilt to the front board, five compartments to spine, with title in gilt. Frontis, [i-iii] iv-vi, 1-666. Measures approximately 1" by 9 1/2". Overall very good. The hinges and text block are very sound. The boards and corners are rubbed, wear to the joints, tears with some loss to the top and bottom of spine, damp stain which goes from front paste down through page vi. Please note that we do not believe the dark damp stain was water, it is quite large on paste down and goes to small by page vi, there is no odor, but something other than water caused this issue. Please view the photos carefully prior to purchase. But, for a large and heavy volume it is in very good condition. This order may incur additional shipping charges. Good. Item #JE8
