This rare volume includes the correspondence between Thomas Heaphy and Charles Dickens as well as the story itself. A first edition that has been beautifully rebound. 6.75" x 4.25". Rebound in dark green leather by Riviere & Son (~1880), gilt titles and borders, five raised bands, A.E.G., plum endpapers. Pagination: half-title, full title page, preface, 7-87 letter/extract/narrative/story, original cover wrapper, 5 pages ads (Griffin & Farran), original rear cover. Condition: Near Fine.
