Volumes 1, 3, 4, 8 and 13 are stated second printings, volumes 9.I, 9.II, 10, and 12 are stated third printings, the remaining 12 volumes are presumably first printings. 16 books have jackets, ranging in condition, 5 do not. Volume 18 is ex-library with sticker on spine, old card holder, and stamps to edges. Most have an early owner's mark on the free endpaper, several have a portion of the endpaper removed, presumably to excise an even earlier owner's name. One title page has the helpful annotation of the author's full name in red pen, the text is otherwise free from notes or underlining. Bindings are sound.
