First published in 1879, Arnold's influential poem popularized Buddhism for an English-speaking audience. An early owner, Florence Darnley has left her name and an 1907 date on a flyleaf, as well as an attractive bookplate on the front endpaper. The bookplate features a quotation from Tennyson and is signed W.P.B., 1908. Fading to the paneled spine, offsetting to the marbled endpapers from the ruled turn-ins.
