Bridgeport: Lockwood & Backus, 1810. Hardcover. An exact reprint of the 1710 work, marking an early American interest in establishing their early colonial religious history. Considerable wear to the covers, with the front joint starting and loss to the head of the spine, although the binding remains solid. An early collector's pencil note to the front endpaper reads "Very Scarce: An exact reprint of the first book published in Connecticut". The rear endpaper bears the bookplate of the collector George E. Sears and a clipping of a catalog description of the work. Toning throughout, with discoloration to outer upper corner of the early pages. [i]-xii, [13]-144pp. 5.5 x 3.5" Good. Item #2023-P212
