Dynamics of Meditation

Bombay: A Life Awakening Movement Publication, 1973. Hardcover. Unusual collection of 'interview-discourses by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh on the various aspects of meditation' with instructions on mediation techniques, printed in Bombay in English in a print run of 3,000 copies. 286 pages, with two pages of ads listing the 'Available English Books of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh' with prices in rupees, testament to the productivity of this period. From the foreword: 'Twentieth century man is approaching the shoreline of a vast ocean -- the ocean of the unconscious, the inner Cosmos. In the West, most people have not yet come to it, not yet seen it, but have perhaps heard its distant rumblings and echoes, as they are approaching it. Freud and Jung brought the existence of the first few laps of this infinite ocean into popular awareness. As a result, most people nowadays acknowledge that something like it probably exists somehow, somewhere, but only because they have heard about it or read about it, not as a result of direct encounter of it.' Significant bumping of the corners, with wear to both the jacket and the book itself. Wear to the edges of the jacket, with small voids at the top and bottom of the spine. As expected, the title page has the date 1972, while the copyright page is dated 'August 1973'. With a photograph as frontispiece, and the stamp of the Neelamber Rajneesh Mediation Center, East Islip, New York, in red on the title page. See photos. Very Good / Very Good. Item #2022-M277
