Sometime

Farrar & Rinehart, 1933. Hardcover. Herrick's early utopian novel, in a repaired dust jacket. From author's description from the dust jacket: 'My effort is to picture a new human society of a future age busy with its most important task, with the supreme adventure and to present some of the leading persons involved. There is also much related in retrospect of society at the close of the Christian era as it appeared to the future dwellers on the earth from their archaeological delving into the remains of the U.S.A. The contrast between the two civilizations, in material details but more especially in spirit, are thus presented lightly, ironically, as one might present the differences between ancient Egypt or Greece, and the nineteenth and twentieth centuries A.D.; only in this case the unquestioned advantage being with the newer type of civilization.' For an unknown reason, a previous owner had carefully cut the dust jacket into five panels and placed them inside the book. The jacket has been reassembled inside a protective mylar cover, displaying classic blue and gold design and bright colors, although the seams are still visible. Blue cloth cover has some discoloration on front and back covers. Minor stains to front and back endpapers, bottom edge, otherwise the text is clean and unmarked, with deckled edge and blue stained top edge. (See Photos). Very Good / Good. Item #2022-M209
