"After it had pleased God to give so clear a decision of those Contests, which the well-affected People of this Nation for many years together had with the late King, and his Party, and those who after him espoused that Interest, and engaged upon the same bottom, That the Adversaries were wholly vanquisht, and both their Persons, and Estates through the gracious dispensations of God subjected to the power of those whom they had designed to enslave, and ruine, It was hoped, that that visible hand of God, which appeared against them in that War on all occasions, would have had suitable impressions, and been sufficient to convince them of the errour of their way."
