Gravity and Grace

New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1952. Hardcover. The first American edition of Weil's influential work, edited posthumously by Gustab Thibon and translated by Arthur Wills. From the jacket: "Gravity and Grace is unquestionably the best introduction to the body of her work. Whether or not one agrees that she is 'a saint for moderns,' this striking, sometimes shocking, statement of her credo is worthy of attention of any thinking man of good will." Jacket has clipped corners but maintains the $3.50 price, with light sunning to the spine and minor chipping to the upper edge, including slight loss to the head of the spine. The black covers are dark, there is minor offsetting to endpapers, with the interior otherwise clean and unmarked. [i]-vi, [1]-236pp. 8.25 x 5.75" Very Good / Very Good. Item #2023-P182
