FIRST edition, stated first printing of Stuart Gilbert's translation of Antoine de Saint-Exupery's aviation classic, with a preface by Antre Gide. In an unclipped dust jacket, with the $1.75 price. The jacket has some creasing, particularly along the upper edge, and is now in a protective plastic cover. The red lightning bolts on the front cover ans spine are bright and unfaded. The blue cloth covers are bright, with minor scuffs to the dark blue and gilt titles. An early owner has left his name and a bookplate (evincing an appropriate taste for exploration and adventure) on the front pastedown. [i]-xv, [1]-198, [2].
